Peterborough United got their first win in three games yesterday, winning 2-0 against Scunthorpe United. The win maintains Posh’s spot in 2nd place in League One, three points behind leaders Portsmouth and two points ahead of Barnsley.
Former Scunthorpe United striker Matty Godden scored a brace against his former club to help Peterborough United respond to last weekend’s 4-0 thrashing by Barnsley with a 2-0 win over The Iron – a team who have been a bogey side for Posh over the past few meetings.
Steve Evans reverted to the team that saw Posh storm to the top of League One with six wins from their first six matches. Goalkeeper Aaron Chapman made a solid performance after some shaky displays in recent weeks, and Jason Cummings and Matty Godden were reunited up front as Posh claimed their first three points in three matches.
Peterborough United fans were relieved to see their side bring three points back to London Road, with The Posh’s home form faltering in the last month. Steve Evans’ men remain unbeaten on the road in the League, but home form remains a concern.
Nice to get back to winning ways. Hard place to go and get 3 points but on to next week #pufc

Impressive win that at Scunthorpe, they’re a good team who play some nice stuff. Our away form is very good but the home form needs to get sorted out #pufc

For home games I think the Posh squad should meet at the academy, get on a coach and take a minimum 1 hour drive out of town before turning around to head back to the stadium. #pretenditsanawayday #pufc

You could never criticise @BigSteveEvans2 for a lack of passion towards his beloved Peterborough United, comes accross as a real fan every time in his interviews #PUFC
