Scunthorpe United

PREVIEW: Scunthorpe United v Peterborough United

Scunthorpe United will be looking to close the gap between themselves and the Sky Bet League One play-off places when they take on second placed Peterborough United at Glanford Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Iron lost 3-2 to Luton Town at Kenilworth Road last weekend, a result which ended their seven-match unbeaten league run.

Scunthorpe United manager Stuart McCall will again be without goalkeepers Matt Gilks and Rory Watson who are sidelined for the foreseeable future. Defender James Horsfield is set to miss out with a groin problem while on-loan Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo has a hamstring injury.

Peterborough United make the short trip to Lincolnshire without the services of goalkeeper Conor O’Malley who has a shoulder injury while Josh Yorwerth and Marcus Maddison are struggling with illness. Defender Tyler Denton is available for selection after shaking off an ankle problem.

Posh manager Steve Evans could opt to make changes to his starting XI after his side suffered a heavy 4-0 home defeat to Barnsley last weekend. That loss was Peterborough United’s second of the season in Sky Bet League One.

Scunthorpe United have a good recent record against The Posh. They are unbeaten in their last five meetings while they were 2-1 winners in the same fixture last season.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3pm and tickets will be available on the day for both sets of supporters.
