Premier League duo keen on Ipswich Town midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are both keen on Ipswich Town midfielder Andre Dozzell, according to the Mirror.

The 19-year-old has recently made his return to action after a cruciate knee ligament injury ruled him out for 13 months. He came on as a substitute during Ipswich’s defeat to Middlesbrough last Tuesday.

Dozzell is highly-rated by the Tractor Boys but they could face a battle to hold onto him in January amid interest from the Premier League.

He is a product of their academy and rose through the ranks at Portman Road. Dozzell was a key player for their youth sides and his impressive performances earned him his first-team debut aged just 16 in a Championship fixture away to Sheffield Wednesday in which he came off the bench to score an equalising goal for Ipswich.

Dozzell has since played 11 more games for Ipswich’s senior side but he sustained his injury on the opening day of last season against Birmingham City and that ruled him out for the whole campaign. Nevertheless, he has bounced back from that and is ready to impress this season.

He has also represented England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 level so far in his career and was integral in England U19’s triumph at the European Championships last year.

Dozzell has a bright future ahead of his in the game and Spurs and Arsenal among other Premier League sides will no doubt keep an eye on how he does for Ipswich Town in the Championship this season.
