The 23-year-old signed from Cambridge City last month for a five-figure sum and scored a hat-trick in a 3-1 win against Chesham United on Saturday.

“That’s my job to score goals and to get three today (Saturday) was really, really pleasing. You’ve got to be in the right place to score goals. I got on the end of a few flicks and a few knockdowns today (Saturday) and managed to score a few goals which was pleasing,” Marriott told Stevenage’s Official Website.

The striker is also happy to be linking up with Boro striker Darius Charles, who has helped him settle at The Lamex.

“Darius is brilliant to play with. He holds the ball up well for me and that’s where I get into the game. Obviously I’m not the biggest, I can’t do that all the time so it’s good that he’s up there with me,” he concluded.

Marriott enjoyed a successful season last year scoring 45 goals in 42 appearances for Cambridge.
