Nottingham Forest could be without midweek goalscorer Joe Lolley for the trip to Middlesbrough on Saturday with the player currently struggling with a hamstring problem according to the Nottingham Post.

The 26-year-old Redditch-born wideman played almost an hour of Forest’s 2-2 draw with Millwall at The City Ground on Wednesday evening before coming off after sustaining a pull of his hamstring.

Lolley is believed to have been assessed by The Reds’ medical staff this morning ahead of Saturday’s trip to Boro with the player thought to be doubtful to make manager Actor Karanka’s starting XI.

Wednesday’s fixture against Millwall saw Forest put in an underwhelming display which resulted in them taken a fortunate two-goal lead before throwing two points away late on in the game. Winger Lolley opened the scoring with an impressive strike from the edge of the box, his third goal for The Reds this season and the player will be missed if he is absent from the squad for the trip to The Riverside Stadium.

Forest missed the chance to move up to fifth place in the Sky Bet Championship table on Wednesday evening and they instead sit in 11th position, six points behind Saturday’s opponents Boro who currently occupy second spot. The Teessiders are unbeaten in their last four league matches while they have conceded just four times in the Sky Bet Championship so far this season.
