Battle of the attackers as Championship Player of the Month shortlist is revealed

The Championship Player of the Month shortlist was released this morning, and strikers Neal Maupay, Dwight Gayle and Teemu Pukki will battle it out with Blackburn Rovers’ Bradley Dack for the award.

Brentford striker Neal Maupay, West Brom’s Dwight Gayle, Norwich’s Finnish striker Teemu Pukki and Rovers playmaker Bradley Dack are all up for the title of Championship Player of the Month for September.

Brentford striker Neal Maupay has started this season in electric form, scoring five goals in August, and the Frenchman’s goalscoring has not slowed down. Maupay has scored four goals in five games, and missed one game through suspension.

West Brom’s on loan striker Dwight Gayle has enjoyed a thoroughly successful month at The Hawthorns, picking up five goals and two assists in six games, helping Darren Moore’s side go unbeaten in six games through September.

Norwich City’s new striker Teemu Pukki has started life at Carrow Road in impressive fashion after joining on a free transfer from Danish side Brondby. The 28-year-old has picked up three goals and one assist as Norwich have risen to 5th place under Daniel Farke.

Last on the list is Blackburn Rovers’ attacking midfielder Bradley Dack, as he continues to prove that he is more than capable at Championship level. The 24-year-old only played four matches last month after missing the 4-1 loss against Bristol City through injury. He has netted three times and assisted twice for Rovers.

The winner of the competition will be announced on Friday 5th of October.
