Takeover stalled; Wednesday fans optimistic

Sheffield Wednesday takeover by Azerbaijani Hafiz Mammadov’s has been temporarily halted due to other matters in which the new potential owner needed to attend to.

Wednesday fans will not want to hear this with current chairman Milan Mandaric keen to get the deal wrapped up quickly.

The Daily Mail reported that he remains hopefully that the deal will still be struck and the takeover will be fully completed, mainly as he met Mammadov last Friday in London for talks.

This gives the impression coming up that a deal is likely to still take place but there will still be some doubts in the backs of the minds of some Wednesday fans.

The Lens appeal for Mammadov was accepted so this will give confidence in the Wednesday fans going forward for the upcoming week. What won’t give them confidence though is the fact he had to appeal, it will be a case of being cautious and careful with this potential new owner.
