Sky Bet League One promotion hopefuls Barnsley could be boosted by the return of influential midfielder Brad Potts when they take on Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium this afternoon according to the Barnsley Chronicle.

The 24-year-old Hexham-born midfielder is yet to finish on the losing side in Sky Bet League One this season but has missed Barnsley’s last two league matches with a thigh injury.

Daniel Stendel’s men have picked up just one point from their league fixtures against Walsall and Coventry City without Potts and it has now been revealed that Barnsley could be boosted by the player’s return ahead of the trip to Fleetwood Town this afternoon.

It is thought that Potts has returned to full training following his injury and providing that he is in good shape after yesterday’s session, he will be selected in the squad for the trip to the Fylde coast.

Potts joined Barnsley last August from Blackpool for an undisclosed fee and the player signed a three-year deal at Oakwell. The former England Under-19 international has gone on to make 48 appearances in all competitions for The Tykes while he has scored six goals including two this season in wins over Oxford United and Rochdale.

Barnsley go into this afternoon’s match seven points behind league leaders Peterborough United, although they have a game in hand on The Posh.
