Oldham Athletic are set to host Colchester United at Boundary Park this weekend and Frankie Bunn is confident ahead of the top of the table clash.
Last weekend, Sam Surridge netted twice in two minutes as Oldham Athletic inflicted a fourth-straight defeat on Grimsby Town courtesy of a 3-0 victory.
Oldham Athletic manager Frankie Bunn told the club website: “We’ve had a great week and to nearly finish the week off we had a great training session this morning, the boys were buzzing.”
“The ball was being zipped around and everyone’s got a smile on their faces, so we’ve had a good week, but we’re back down to business on Saturday.”
Latics lost their last home game as Newport County as Tyreeq Bakinson’s goal was enough to see off Oldham and Frankie Bunn believes that his team need more quality at home as he said: “I think we need a bit more quality in the final third in our home games, but the difference has only been a goal, so perhaps and just being a bit brighter in and around the oppositions penalty box.”
“We’ve taken our chances away from home when they’ve arisen, we ride out storms and we’ve just got to figure a way of breaking teams down at home when they sit off us.”
Oldham Athletic’s visitors Colchester continued their impressive start to the season last weekend with a comprehensive 3-0 home win over Cambridge.
Oldham Athletic fans have made a massive impact this season and the manager is thankful of the support: “It’s nice to show our emotions after the games and it shows we care and we’re together when we’re all there standing and applauding our supporters.”
“The togetherness in the squad is improving weekly, so we all should be getting confidence from the results and the performances.”
“Hopefully we get the supporters vocal like they were again on Saturday and they were terrific, so let’s have a bit of noise at Boundary Park.”
