Stoke City earned an important 1-0 win over Swansea City at the Bet365 Stadium last night.
It was a tight affair between two of last season’s relegated Premier League sides and Joe Allen’s second-half goal was enough to seal all three points for the Potters.
There was a lot of controversy surrounding Allen’s goal and Swansea will feel hard done by about it as he looked offside.
Stoke won’t care though and they will now be looking to climb up the league table. It has been a tough start to the season for the Potters and it has taken them a while to adapt to life in the Championship. Last night’s victory leaves them 14th and four points of the play-offs.
Swansea will be disappointed after their defeat but it has still been a positive start by Graham Potter’s side and they will be looking to bounce back on Saturday as they make the trip to the North-East to play Middlesbrough.
Stoke, on the other hand, face a tricky home fixture against Blackburn Rovers but will be in confident mood now after beating the Swans. The Potters will be hoping for back-to-back home wins. Here is how their fans have reacted on Twitter to last night’s win-
Bit nervy at times but the better side. Not surprised we're nervy though with the crowd as it is along with confidence, very quiet and negative though not surprising for the team and fans after a poor couple of years. Hopefully another win Saturday to push on. #scfc

So after tens of millions of pounds wasted & 3 years searching world football for a holding midfield player the answer was a ginger lad from Cannock. #scfc #woods #baller
