Middlesbrough defender wants Riverside ‘rocking’ for Bolton clash

Middlesbrough defender Aden Flint has cemented himself as a first-team regular this season since arriving from Bristol City, and has filled the void left by Ben Gibson who joined Burnley in the summer.

Middlesbrough will be hoping to get back to winning ways after suffering their first defeat of the season last weekend against Norwich City at Carrow Road. They also conceded their first goal in five games, a feat that Flint has been a huge part of.

In an interview which appears on Middlesbrough’s official website, Flint expressed that he revels playing at The Riverside Stadium, and believes the crowd should get behind them when they face Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday night.

“I’ve always enjoyed playing there (The Riverside) as an opposition player, but it’s even better when you’re playing as a home player,” he said.

“The place can be rocking when we’re doing well, which we have been this season, so hopefully we can continue that on Wednesday and for the rest of the season.”

The game on Wednesday comes just three days after the Norwich City defeat, and following Bolton Wanderers, Middlesbrough face another test when they face Swansea City next weekend. The games are starting to come thick and fast in the Championship, but Flint just wants to concentrate on each fixture one at a time.

“It’s a quick turnaround so we can go straight away again playing Bolton on Wednesday and then a massive game against Swansea on Saturday. But we’ve got Bolton first, prepare for that one and hopefully kick-start a little run again.”
