Formation 4-1-2-1-2 –
GK – Jon McLaughlin, Sunderland (71) – The 30-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Sunderland and became Ross’ second summer signing, arriving with a wealth of experience within the Football League. Born in Edinburgh, the in-demand stopper enjoyed a standout 2017-18 campaign with Scottish Premiership outfit Heart of Midlothian, and this led to his international debut in May 2018.
RB – Chris Solly, Charlton (69) – The right-back has spent a decade at first-team level having come through the youth ranks at Charlton, making well over 250 appearances in the process. Grayson brought him to Sunderland, McGeady’s first season at the club saw him score seven goals in 35 league appearances.
CAM – Marcus Maddison, Peterborough United (70) – Marcus Maddison signed for Peterborough United in the summer of 2014 from non-league side Gateshead.
