Oldham Athletic manager Frankie Bunn wants a reaction this weekend in Sky Bet League Two fixture against Grimsby Town.
Last weekend, Newport County won their second away game on the bounce as Tyreeq Bakinson’s goal was enough to condemn Latics to their second league defeat of the season.
Whereas, Bury earned back-to-back league wins for the first time this season as they eased past Grimsby at Gigg Lane with a 4-0 win.
Oldham Athletic currently sit 10th in League Two on 11 points from seven games, whilst Grimsby Town are 21st on five points from seven games.
Good news for Latics as they have Daniel Iversen and Gevaro Nepomuceno are back from International Duty.
Oldham Athletic boss Frankie Bunn told the club website: “We look refreshed, we’ve come off the pace during the week in training and concentrated on doing some more work technically, tactically and also in the gym, but everyone looks in good spirits.”
“We’ve had a good six weeks, we’ve had Saturday, Tuesday throughout a number of those weeks, so it was time to ease off physically and rest mentally which worked because this morning they were very bright.”
Frankie Bunn believes that Grimsby Town are looking to bounce back as he said: “I expect a reaction from them because they’re at home, but I’m wanting to see a reaction from us as well so even though we performed well we were disappointed with the result and it’s something we want to put right.”
“I thought we were really good against Newport although it wasn’t the result we wanted, but we performed really well, we were five unbeaten so we’re looking to bounce back as quickly as possible and get back to winning ways.”
