Birmingham City take on an in-form West Brom side in Friday night’s Championship fixture as Garry Monk goes in search of his side’s first victory of the season.
The Blues are one of just three clubs, the other two being Reading and Ipswich, without a win in the league this season and face a tricky test against a free-flowing West Brom outfit, but Birmingham defender Harlee Dean has stated that Birmingham have a clear plan to stop the Baggies this weekend.
Talking to the Birmingham Mail, the defender said “It’s about keeping to the plan, doing what we have been doing. We are not going to change for any other team.”
“They have got good players, there are a few that are top strikers, we have to be at our best. But that’s how you have to be in every game because it doesn’t matter who you are playing, everybody in this league can beat everybody and if you don’t perform you get beaten.”
“We are fresh, energised and are looking forward to playing on Friday. We have performed because of how clear and concise the instructions from the management staff are – the clarity of what we have got to do and when we have got to do it,” said the 27-year-old defender.
“We are not trying to be a team we are not, we know what we are, we know what we are good at, the manager has just created a style of play that suits us.”
The Blues will likely drop into the bottom three if they succumb to yet another defeat tomorrow night.
