“Would do a job at this level”- Aston Villa fans react to Robert Huth links

Aston Villa are poised to swoop for free agent defender Robert Huth, according to the StokeOnTrentLive.

The experienced defender has been available on a free transfer since leaving Premier League side Leicester City at the end of the season. Villa are in the hunt for a new defender and have been linked with a move to resign John Terry but are now believed to be looking at alternatives.

Names like James Collins and Robert Huth have been linked with Steve Bruce’s side over recent weeks. It now appears the Huth rumours do have legs and Villa could be poised to move for the veteran defender now.

The 34-year-old played a key part in Leicester’s Premier League title winning season of 2016 and would be a shrewd short-term signing by Aston Villa. Huth, who has made 19 caps for the German national team, has racked up over 400 appearances in his career.

He has had spells at Chelsea, Middlesbrough, Stoke City and Leicester and is now looking forward to the next chapter of his career, with Aston Villa a likely destination.

Here is how Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to news linking Robert Huth with a move to Villa Park-
