Leeds United favourite bags PFA Fans’ Player of the Month

Leeds United favourite Pablo Hernandez has collected his first award of the season. He was won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for August, beating team-mate Kemar Roofe in the process. Hernandez bagged two goals on his way to winning the award.

Hernandez has had a great start to the season. After the question marks over his future were answered by a new two-year-deal at the end of last season he has kicked on under Marcelo Bielsa. Hernandez has once again been used in a wide position, from both sides and flanking Samu Saiz who has looked much better again this season. On the other side Gjanni Alioksi provides more width, Hernandez bringing the creative side to the game.

Kemar Roofe has gained much of the headlines this season, four goals and two man of the match performances along with an assist but Leeds were struggling without Hernandez against Middlesbrough, certainly creating chances and making progress in the final third. Roofe will be very happy with his start to the season despite not collecting the award.

Nick Powell (Wigan), Andreas Wiemann (Bristol City), Darren Randolph (Middlesbrough) were also up for the award won by Pablo Hernandez. The Spaniard was the clear favourite to win it, many Leeds fans were confident he had the edge over Kemar Roofe.
