Reading likely to offload three players this week

Pelle Clement, Adrian Popa and Anssi Jaakkola are likely to leave Reading on loan before the end of the month, according to Football.London.

The futures of youngsters Danny Loader and Andy Rinomhota are also set to be decided over the coming days as to whether they are going to be loaned out this season.

The Royals are looking to chop down their squad to give players more of a chance and try to enhance more of a togetherness in their ranks.

Pelle Clement, who is 22-years-old, joined Reading last summer from Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax. He played 25 games in all competitions last season but is down the pecking order in Paul Clement’s attacking options. Therefore, a loan move is on the cards for the Dutch winger for this campaign.

30-year-old forward Adrian Popa could join him in leaving the Madejski Stadium. He joined the Championship side in January 2017 and has since played 16 games for them, scoring just once. Popa was loaned out to Saudi side Al-Taawoun in January for the remainder of last season and is not part of Clement’s first-team plans.

Finnish goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola is the final player who is likely to leave Reading. He is now their third choice and will struggle to get first-team minutes this season if he stays. He has played for the Royals since 2016 and has played 14 times.

Jaakkola has previously had spells at Siena, Slavia Prague, Kilmarnock and Ajax Cape Town before his move to England. He is now set for another move.
