Five central midfielders Hull City should bring in on loan

Hull City still need another central midfielder to boost their squad. Here are five they could go for on loan-

Harrison Reed, Southampton- City boss Nigel Adkins will know him from his time as manager of the Saints. The 23-year-old midfielder spent last season on loan in the Championship with Norwich City and played 43 games for them in all competitions. Reed, who has previously played for England Under-20’s, would be ideal for the Tigers.

Jason Puncheon, Crystal Palace- Although there will be question marks over whether City could pay his wages, Adkins also knows Puncheon from managing him at Southampton and should re-unite with him. The 32-year-old is apparently available for loan from Palace and has bags of experience at Championship level so will be a man in-demand.

Jacob Butterfield, Derby County- He has fallen down the pecking order at Derby and is another option. The former Barnsley and Middlesbrough midfielder spent last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and is likely to leave the Rams again before the end of August.

Josh Cullen, West Ham United- The 22-year-old is a good player and needs more first-team experience. Cullen, who has already played 9 times for West Ham, has had loan spells at Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers over recent years.

Gedion Zelalem, Arsenal- He is another option from the Premier League. He has spent time with Rangers and VVV-Venlo over the past year or so and is a highly-rated young midfielder. Zelalem is a USA Under-23’s international and is another option to explore for City.
