Aston Villa are interested in Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden, as per a report by Chronicle Live.

The Championship side want to delve into the loan market to further strengthen their squad. The loan window shuts at the end of August.

Isaac Hayden, who is 23-years-old, wants to leave Newcastle United and could re-unite with his former Hull City boss Steve Bruce.

Hayden started his career at Southend United as a youngster but moved to Arsenal in 2008. He went onto play twice for the Gunners’ first-team.

He got his first taste of regular game time on loan at Hull City for the 2015/16 season under Bruce. He helped the Tigers gain promotion to the Premier League during his stint at the KCOM Stadium and played 24 games for them in all competitions.

Newcastle then snapped him up in July 2016 ahead of their Championship season under Rafa Benitez and he signed a five-year deal at St James’ Park. Hayden then got his second promotion in a row and played 37 games for the Magpies in the 2017/18 campaign.

He played 26 times in the Premier League last season but is keen on a move away from the North-East side. Aston Villa is a potential destination for him.

Villa have started life in the 2018/19 season well under Bruce and have won their first two games against Hull and Wigan Athletic respectively. They are still in the hunt for some new players and could lure Isaac Hayden to Villa Park.
