Coventry partake in an ‘Unfriendly Match’ seeing FOUR red cards…

Coventry City on their tour of Italy in a game against Greek club Kalloni FC saw four red cards across the game and two for each side in a game where the referee was harshly criticized.

The game was goalless and what should have been a peaceful affair in a preparation for the upcoming season saw unsavoury scenes take place in the 15th minute with the Greek champions player Keite punching Coventry’s Pugh which saw both players sent off, despite Pugh not retaliating. Another sending off then took place just 12 minutes later where an aerial challenge resulted in a Kalloni player ‘swinging for Andy Webster according to the Coventry telegraph.

Just two minutes later another red card was quickly produced to Billy Daniels for a tackle in which the Coventry Telegraph reports as ‘the softest of fouls’.

Pressley quoted “The referee completely lost control of the game and made some bizarre decisions which ruined what could, potentially, have been a really good game.” to the Coventry Telegraph.
