Jones comments on any likely Luton Deadline Day transfers

Speaking to Luton Today, the Luton Town manager Nathan Jones states that he is in no rush to add any new faces before the 5pm transfer deadline. Also, he claims that he is not worried about losing any of his key players before the window slams shut, too.

At this stage, the Hatters have added four new faces to their squad for their Sky Bet League One campaign. Those are Andrew Shinnie, Jorge Grant, Sonny Bradley and Matty Pearson, and Jones does not believe any more will come in. Luton began the season with a 1-0 away defeat to Portsmouth last weekend.

Whilst Jones admits there were in market, he is not pressing to add anybody else,

“Not as vociferously as we were. We don’t just bring in people for the sake of it, we’ve got a really healthy squad, a strong squad.

“We identify certain targets, we identified four that we wanted, we got three of those four as we didn’t have to do down the list.”

Someone such as full back Jack Stacey has been heavily linked with a move away in this window, with West Bromwich Albion signalling their intentions by making a bid earlier in the window. Luton have resisted the temptation to cash in, and Jones believes nobody will leave,

“We don’t envisage losing anyone, but if we lose anyone now, it would take a phenomenal bid to lose anyone.

“We’re ready to batten down the hatches and look on to Christmas.”

Luton welcome title favourites Sunderland to Kenilworth Road this weekend.
