Blackburn Rovers interested in Major League Soccer star

Blackburn Rovers are interested in Columbus Crew midfielder Wil Trapp, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

The Championship have already a bid turned down for the American midfielder but could go back in for another one with the transfer deadline looming.

Blackburn have been busy in this transfer window as they look to bolster their squad. Their manager, Tony Mowbray, has delved into the transfer market to sign Joe Rothwell from Oxford United, Jacob Davenport from Manchester City, Adam Armstrong from Newcastle United and Kasey Palmer from Chelsea.

Wil Trapp is a new name to be linked with the North-West side. However, it would take some doing by them to get this one done in time, but there is always the loan market which ends at the end of August.

The 25-year-old is a youth product of Columbus Crew and has become a key player for their first-team. Trapp has played over 150 games for them in MLS and has also played 6 times for the USA national team.

He is of Greek descent and acquired a Greek passport back in May which now enables him to play in Europe in the near future.

Blackburn Rovers may see him in their blue and white kit in the future. They were promoted from League One last season and have gone into this campaign in confident mood. Their main achievement of this transfer window is keeping hold of their star man, Bradley Dack.
