Wigan are close to signing Rangers player Josh Windass, this may open the door for Ryan Colclough to leave for League One side Scunthorpe United.

About Ryan Colclough –

The skilful winger signed for Wigan from Crewe Alexandra in 2016 after progressing through their academy.

Ryan Colclough is comfortable on either flank and he has bags of pace, who is also skilful and can cut in to shoot on to both his left and right foot.

Ryan Colclough has played 56 games in all competitions, scoring eight goals in the process for Wigan. He also spent time on loan at MK Dons at the start of the 2016-17 season, in which time he scored five times in 23 appearances.

He rose to prominence in the 2017-18 season when he scored twice against Doncaster Rovers before running straight off the pitch on the hour mark to get to Warrington in time to witness the birth of his second child, Harley.

Earlier today –

Wigan signed versatile Everton youngster Callum Connolly on a season-long loan deal.

The defender had a loan spell with the club during the 2016-17 campaign, scoring two goals in 17 appearances.

The 20-year-old played as a right back in his initial spell with Wigan during the 2016-17 season but has the ability to play across defence and in midfield, like he did last season in an excellent loan spell with Ipswich Town, he scored four goals in 35 appearances.
