James Coppinger earlier revealed that his career at Doncaster is over to the Yorkshire Post.
Barnsley however have been rumored with a move for the midfielder who joined Doncaster back in 2004.
If Barnsley were to move for him, it would guarantee him League 1 football which he would have been playing with Doncaster anyway and ensure that he probably wouldn’t have to relocate very far, if at all.
The 33 year-old was a free agent when his contract expired in June and revealed that he was not offered any fresh terms by the Doncaster board despite the Ryan-Tomlinson board offering him terms before their deal to buy the club collapsed.
Whether the 33-year old decides to join Barnsley or not has no concrete information yet however the fact he has left Rovers will be a sad sight for many Doncaster fans, especially if they face up against him in a Barnsley kit next season.
