Stoke City inform trio that they can leave

The Daily Mail claims that Stoke City striker Eric Choupo-Moting has turned down the chance to join Huddersfield Town. He, along with midfield duo Gianelli Imbula and Charlie Adam have been told that they can leave the club for the right price.

In the case of Choupo-Moting, he is holding out for a move to a bigger club. Therefore, Stoke may have to be patient in getting him off the books, as transfer windows abroad do not close until later in the month. Stoke also want Imbula and Adam off the wage bill at the club. The trio did not appear as Stoke opened the new season with defeat to Leeds United.

29-year-old Choupo-Moting joined Stoke on a free transfer in 2017, after previously playing for Schalke 04. He started 26 Premier League games for the club, managing to net five goals in the process.

Imbula has been a big disappointment following a huge £18.3million switch from Porto. He spent time on loan at Toulouse last season, helping them to avoid relegation into Ligue 2. He clearly has hit heart set on a switch away from the club.

Adam has been vocal in the media of late, but is clearly someone that does not have much of a future at the bet365 Stadium. The 32-year-old has managed over 100 appearances for the club, but the former Blackpool and Liverpool man won’t be adding to that figure any time soon. With Sam Clucas set to join from Swansea City, this would further drop him down the pecking order.
