Shrewsbury Town duo hand in transfer requests- Ipswich Town ready to pounce

Shrewsbury Town duo Aristote Nsiala and Jon Nolan have both handed in transfer requests, according to the Shropshire Star.

They are both no longer training with the League One side as they look to be set for moves away before the end of the transfer window.

Championship side Ipswich Town had bids rejected by Shrewsbury for both of them earlier this week but are thought to be still keen.

Their new manager, Paul Hurst, left Shrewsbury to take charge of the Tractor Boys at the end of the season. He worked wonders with the Shrews in the last campaign and got them to the Checkatrade Trophy final and the Play-Off final.

Aristote Nsiala and Jon Nolan were both key players for Hurst and are on his radar for Ipswich now as he looks to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad. He also managed both of them at Grimsby Town.

Nsiala, who is 26-years-old, joined Shrewsbury in January 2017 from Hartlepool United and has been a key player for them ever since. He strengthened their defence in his first season and helped them stay up in League One before being pivotal in their rise to the top of the table in the last campaign.

Jon Nolan has become a man in-demand this summer on the back of last season. He only joined Shrewsbury last summer from Chesterfield, having previously been at Stockport County and Grimsby Town, and played 55 games for them in competitions, scoring 10 goals.

Ipswich Town have been busy on the transfer front so far this summer and now could be set for another double swoop.
