Leeds United today unveiled Patrick Bamford as their latest summer signing, paying Middlesbrough £7million for his services. The former Chelsea youngster has penned a four-year contract at Elland Road and will be hoping to lead the line for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the season to come.
We have wondered across to the often weird world of Twitter to see how this has gone down with Leeds United supporters. As for Middlesbrough fans, perhaps they won’t be too saddened to see the player depart. It is clear that Tony Pulis has others ahead of him in the pecking order, so to receive the fee they did will have pleased them. But, what of Leeds supporters?
Bamford has spent the vast majority of his career out on loan at various clubs. It is now important for him to get a run of games under his belt, as this is where the best tends to come out of him. Leeds fans therefore may need to be patient in seeing the very best of the striker, given that he will be a little rusty in the early weeks of the campaign.
The new Leeds number nine will undoubtedly be hoping to make his Whites debut on Sunday as Stoke City are the visitors.
Below are a taste of tweets for fans reacting to Bamford signing for Leeds.
He difference between him and Vydra is astounding. Derby can keep 'last season's top scorer' Bamford's attitude in this interview is amazing. #lufc https://t.co/RL8CVpBYHj

Just something I like about Bamford apart from stats and skills. Don’t underestimate the meaning of good personalities at #lufc. For development, culture and likeliness of success.
