Swansea City set for double signing today

Swansea City are set to sign wingers Barrie McKay and Bersant Celina, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

The Swans are also waiting on a decision by Manchester City on a potential loan deal for highly-rated young striker Lukas Nmecha. Fellow Championship side Blackburn Rovers are also keen on him.

Swansea have so far only signed one player in this transfer window in promising forward Joel Asoro from Sunderland. Their new manager, Graham Potter, is hoping to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad by new some signings before the end of the transfer window.

The Welsh side are hoping to conclude a deal to sign Nottingham Forest winger Barrie McKay today. They are set to sign him for a cut-price £500,00 move. The 23-year-old only joined Forest last summer from Scottish Premier League giants Rangers and played 28 games for them last season, scoring 5 goals.

McKay, who has been linked with a move to Greek side Olympiakos in this transfer window, initially hit the ground running at Nottingham Forest last season and will offer Swansea another option out wide.

Swansea are also set to tie up a deal for Manchester City winger Bersant Celina. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town in the Championship and impressed for the Tractor Boys. Celina played 35 games for them in all competitions and scored 8 goals.

Celina has also spent time on loan at Eredivisie side FC Twente in the past so has already got plenty of first-team experience under his belt.
