Aston Villa have fallen on financial difficulty this transfer window after the Midlanders failure to secure promotion back to the Premier League. However, Steve Bruce now looks set to complete the loan signing of Liverpool’s teen sensation Ben Woodburn.

Woodburn is rated extremely highly by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, but the German obviously feels that a loan move away from Anfield would be beneficial for the winger.

The 18 year old has made 6 appearances in the Premier League for the Reds and has netted one goal in the EFL Cup in a triumph over Leeds United in the quarter finals.

His impressive development with the Merseysiders saw him gain an International call up to the Wales senior side in 2017, making his debut against  Austria and scoring a superb 25 yard strike in the process.

He has now made 7 caps for his National side and will be hoping to help Wales qualify for the European Championships in 2020.

Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has been a man in demand this summer and has been subject to interest from some of the biggest clubs in England.

If the Villa academy graduate was to depart this summer, the signing of Woodburn would go a long way in helping to appease fan concerns ahead of the upcoming season.

Bruce will be hoping that his side can mount another promotion charge next season and the acquisition of Woodburn would be a smart signing in terms of attacking intent.

Despite fans’ excitement over the potential signing, there are some Villa fans that are still unconvinced over the prospect of seeing Woodburn in Claret and Blue next season:
