Against all the odds Northern Ireland won their group in qualifying and Magennis, although not a regular played his part.
He began making a name for himself at Kilmarnock in Scotland before getting his move to London and really imposing himself in games. He is without doubt one of the most powerful strikers in the Football League and if Bolton were after a target man then that’s exactly what they have got. Lee Bowyer has tonight confirmed a deal will happen and he expects it to go through quickly as well. Bowyer didn’t want to lose the big forward but the chance to move up a division and try his luck in the Championship is something he wouldn’t turn down, and who can blame him? Bolton need new additions in before the start of the season and this is a key addition. Does it mean the end of the pursuit for Charlie Wyke? Who knows, but it wouldn’t be a surprise.
