Video – Bang! Tyler Roberts scores screamer to bag first Leeds goal

As the game ends between Oxford United and Leeds United it really was a game of two halves. Marcelo Bielsa shook the side up at the break and it made a huge difference. Jamal Black, Tyler Roberts and Ryan Edmondson all arrived into the game and Roberts introduced himself to Leeds fans in some style.

Leeds ended the game losing 4-3 which isn’t good but the first half will be dissected and some who played will need to be looked at. The second half changes also meant a change in formation and a much better performance followed, it’s good to see a coach who shakes thing up tactically if things aren’t going well.

Roberts made his Leeds debut on Sunday at Roots Hall in the 1-1 draw with Southend United and did impress, playing down the right in an unfamiliar position. Tonight he showed himself more in an attacking threat, bagging a beauty as you can see above. There won’t be many positives to take from the game but this certainly was.

For a side that lack fire power massively this moment will give some encouragement to the fans but Andrea Radrizzani, who was in attendance needs to realise that a spirited second half comeback doesn’t change the fact that Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa need signings and they need them now.

Lewis Baker also scored a lovely team goal and Jack Clarke scored his first ever senior Leeds goal as the game ended in defeat. Perhaps the attacking players have come out of the game looking more comfortable than their defensive team-mates and that will need to be looked at. Yosuke Ideguchi had a night to forget, leaving the field at 3-0 and struggling to make any sort of impact.
