Sky Sports announce EFL fixtures to be shown from August to October – Four games to look out for

Sky Sports have announced their live fixture list from August to October, featuring Leeds United, Middlesbrough, Coventry City and West Bromwich Albion.

Sky Sports Football will show 127 live games in the 2018/19 and have announced the first three months of live fixtures to be shown on the channel. Plenty of matches have changed date and time in order for to be shown on Sky.

Here are a selection of games to look out for, with the full list available here.

Friday 31st August: Leeds United v Middlesbrough (7:45pm)

Leeds United take on Middlesbrough at the end of August in what could be a hotly-contested battle, with both teams hoping for a top six finish. This fixture usually throws up interesting results, with Leeds winning three of the last four ties between the two sides at Elland Road.

Sunday 9th September: Oxford United v Coventry City (12pm)

Sky Sports look to be dipping into League One and League Two more often than ever before, and coverage begins in League One with Oxford United v Coventry City at the start of September.

Friday 14th September: Birmingham City v West Brom (7.45pm)

A derby game that hasn’t been played in the league since 2011 in the Premier League. This game will have an added edge given the wait these two sides have had to endure to play one another again.

Garry Monk will have had a full pre-season to get his side playing in his style, and could even be a surprise package next season, whereas West Brom are expected to be pushing for an automatic promotion place.

Tuesday 23rd October: Norwich City v Aston Villa (7.45pm)

These two sides were playing against each other in the Premier League just a few seasons ago, but now could both be competing to get back to the top tier.

Norwich are usually there or there abouts, and again have not been given a chance by fans and pundits alike. Aston Villa will be hit or miss given their recent off-field troubles, and this could be an indication of how they can play in a big game.
