Blackburn Rovers released their new home shirt yesterday on their official club Twitter account.
Umbro have opted to go for a lighter shade of blue and white as the Lancashire side look forward to wearing it in the Championship next season.
After slipping into League One last year, Tony Mowbray guided Blackburn to an immediate promotion back to the second tier and is hoping his side can push on now.
Mowbray has delved into the transfer market to snap up Oxford United midfielder Joe Rothwell. The former Manchester United man impressed last season in League One for the U’s and has earned himself a move to the Championship.
Rovers have also signed highly-rated young midfielder Jacob Davenport from Premier League Champions Manchester City. The 19-year-old spent the latter half of the last campaign at Burton Albion.
They are hoping to get more deals done before the season starts. However, their priority will be to keep hold of their key-man, Bradley Dack. He moved to Ewood Park last summer from Gillingham and has become an instant hit with the Rovers’ faithful.
Here is how the Blackburn Rovers fans have reacted on Twitter to their kit-

The more I look at the kit, the more I like it, the more I can’t get over the sponsor. Shorts and socks are very smart. #Rovers

The new #Rovers kit would look banging, but the sponsor absolutely murders it. Wonder if I can squeeze into the largest kids size…

We’ve had a few light blue kits over the years so not sure what people’s problem is with that. The sponsor seems to be the main dislike but I also think it looks fairly clean design wise. Fans were demanding a ‘new’ kit, it’s released and then they moan about change. 🤔 #rovers
