Stoke City see odds to sign West Brom star cut even further

Stoke City have seen their odds to sign West Brom star James McClean cut even further. They are now priced at 1/5 with online bookmakers Sky Bet to sign the Irishman.

Stoke City’s odds to sign the 29-year-old were at 1/4 but they have now been cut to 1/5 with online bookmakers Sky Bet.

James McClean has played for Sunderland, Wigan Athletic and West Brom while in England. Since moving over from Ireland in 2011 he has made 232 league appearances, 158 in the Premier League and 74 in the Championship.

It’s fair to say whoever gets their hands on the 29-year-old will certainly have bagged themselves a quality player no matter what division he moves to. At the minute, it’s looking more and more likely it’s going to be Stoke City. Although, Celtic have shown interest in the past.

James McClean pushing for a move away and has been for a while now. it emerged that Celtic had decided to sign winger Derk Boerrigter over James McClean back in 2013, McClean reportedly said that it “broke his heart”. He also went on to say  “If it was up to me I’d have been a Celtic player a long time ago”.

The club who do manage to sign the pacey Irish winger will be getting a top quality player for just a slice of his value in today’s market now he’s been relegated with West Brom to the Championship.

The Odds

Stoke City – 1/5

Cardiff City – 14/1

Celtic – 14/1

Burnley – 33/1
