Paul Warne comments on Rotherham United’s new signings

Rotherham United head coach Paul Warne has told the Sheffield Star he’s delighted with how his new signings are settling in into the team.

Since getting promoted to the Sky Bet Championship, Rotherham have been looking to strengthen so they don’t end up returning to Sky Bet League One. So far, they have signed three players with Clark Robertson, Kyle Vassell and Zak Vyner all completing a move to the Millers earlier in the summer. They have all showed promise else where but this is their big opportunity to play in their second tier.

And Warne has said how pleased he is with the trio as they are all fitting into the squad very well. They all worked hard in their training camp in Austria, one which is well noted for how tough it was going to be, and Vassell excited the fans by scoring a hat trick against Sheffield FC, almost scoring a fourth but he missed his spot kick.

On these players, Warne said: “The three new lads have settled in really well and have a great training ethic,”

“I think they’re enjoying the different environment.”

“It’s hard obviously, but every club at this time of year is putting it’s players through the ringer and we’re definitely no different.”

“It’s not about results, it’s about getting them [the players] all match ready for when the season starts.”

“It’s quite a long process, but the lads are bonding.”

“Most of the lads were here last year and we’ve got good people and good human beings again, which is what I want.”
