Brentford have tonight officially confirmed they have accepted a bid for star winger Florian Jozefzoon from an unnamed club. The player has recently been linked with a move to both Leeds United and Derby County and it’s now said that Leeds is the likely destination.

Leeds and Derby have both been looking at the player and Derby had a bid of just over £1 million rejected around two weeks ago. Frank Lampard turned his attentions to Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson, a player Leeds also looked at this summer but Derby have won that race.

According to Alan Nixon Leeds United are the likely destination for the Dutch winger who has taken to English football with ease, impressing with his direct approach and fearless play on the flanks at Griffin Park.

He was part of a side who threatened briefly in stages last season under Dean Smith but never really hit the heights everyone expected from the London club.

Leeds took just 15 players to Forest Green for the pre-season win tonight and Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman are the only pair to have joined the club so far this summer.

Brentford fans aren’t happy with the statement and if Leeds are the destination it’s fair to say there will be some happy fans at the club, Jozefzoon is a highly talented player who will excite and bring in a touch of class.

The news coincides with a tweet from Phil Hay in the last couple of days saying the club were close with a deal for a Championship player and working on another loan from the Premier League. If Jozefzoon does turn out to be this player then it would be money well spent.

The details of the unnamed club will probably come out in the press in the coming hours, Leeds the lost likely.
