Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for West Ham United defender Sam Bryan over the majority of this transfer window and it appears that the Championship side are hopeful of bringing the right-back to the City Ground during this summer.
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has publicly suggested that the club are looking in this current transfer window to bring a new striker to Bramall Lane, although, it wouldn’t hurt the Blades to strengthen in other areas of their side in order to cement a promotion challenge next season.
Sam Byram is a right-back who is no stranger to Championship football and after the full-back has spent several years with Leeds United, and now has gained Premier League experience with West Ham United, he would be a valuable asset to any Championship club.
Although Sheffield United have George Baldock, Byram’s Premier League experience and versatility would be welcomed in a Blades side that plays with wing-backs. Byram can play either at full-back or wing back, so a move to Bramall Lane would suit the defender who could fit nicely into Chris Wilder’s system.
Chris Wilder’s side should move to sign Byram, who at only 24 still has plenty to give in his career and could really help the Blades to strengthen ahead of this Championship season in the full-back departments. Sheffield United do have money to spend and with it being thought Byram is available, it’s worth the Blades enquiring about the full-back to prevent their promotion rivals Nottingham Forest from bringing yet another top talent to the club ahead of the new season.
Although Nottingham Forest are keen on the defender, as he’s available and expected to leave West Ham, the Blades should definitely make a move to sign him during this window and there’s no reason why Chris Wilder’s side shouldn’t attempt to convince Byram to move to Elland Road.
