Wolves go head to head with European side for West Brom star

Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion star Nacer Chadli, but face competition from Turkish giants Besiktas.

Chadli barely featured for the Baggies during their relegation season in 2017/18, but his performances at the FIFA World Cup in Russia surprised everyone, as he shone in Belgium’s seven games, helping the Red Devils to finish third.

Chadli has only been a West Brom player for two years, after he completed a move from North London side Tottenham Hotspur.

He joined the club for a fee somewhere in the region of £13 million, and West Brom will be hoping to recoup that money if he leaves the club this summer.

The Baggies are currently undergoing a major change this summer, with new manager Darren Moore stamping his mark on the current squad in an attempt to get them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

They have already lost the likes of Jonny Evans and Ben Foster, while Craig Dawson, Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez all expected to follow suit and leave the club in the coming weeks.

Although Chadli only played four Premier League games last season for the Baggies, his performances in the FIFA World Cup will have done him  no harm whatsoever as he looks to revitalise his career.

As it stand, Turkish side Besiktas are the current favourites to secure his signature, and they have been given odds of 2/1 to secure his signature. Wolves are also interested in signing Chadli as they prepare for life back in the Premier League, and they are second favourites with odds of 6/1.
