Premier League side Burnley are the bookies’ favourites to sign West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez, according to odds that have been given out by popular bookmakers Sky Bet.
Rodriguez has been linked with a move away from the Hawthorns all summer, ever since the Baggies suffered relegation from the top flight of English football.
The former England international only joined the club last summer, completing a move from Premier League side Southampton for a fee believed to be somewhere in the region of £12 million.
Rodriguez played 37 times in the league for the Baggies, missing just one game. In those 37 games, he scored seven goals. He did not quite live up to the expectations that were on his shoulders when he arrived at the club, but he is still expected to return to the Premier League this summer.
It is currently former club Burnley who are the favourites to sign him, and they have been given odds of 4/6 to secure his signature. The 28-year-old was born in Burnley, and graduated through the youth academy there before making over 100 appearances for the Lancashire club.
After five years at Turf Moor, Rodriguez left his boyhood club to sign for Southampton, completing a move for £7 million.
Rodriguez played one game for England back in 2014, and after a successful 2013/14 campaign at Southampton, he had been expected to join up with the England squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, but he suffered a serious injury which kept him out for just over a year.
