West Bromwich Albion have today confirmed the signing of former Reading goalkeeper Jonathon Bond on a free transfer.
Bond has joined the club and signed a two-year contract with the Baggies after his contract at fellow Sky Bet Championship side Reading expired.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Sky Bet League One side Peterborough United, impressing thoroughly as their first choice keeper, but it was not enough to earn him a new deal at the Madejski Stadium.
Speaking to the club’s official website about his move to the Hawthorns, Bond, who made five appearances for the England under 21 side, said: “This is a Premier League club and that’s what we’ve got to concentrate on, getting ourselves back up there.”
“The facilities are great, the people are great. The Championship is a tough league but I believe it’s an exciting season ahead.”
It was the second signing of the day for West Brom, after they completed the signing of Kyle Bartley from Swansea City.
Here is a look at how some West Brom fans reacted to the signing of Jonathon Bond:
Yep…the James Bond jokes have already started!

It seems pretty clear that this supporter is not best pleased, given the fact that he does not know who he is.

However, this West Brom fan expects Jonathon Bond to give Sam Johnstone a run for his money for the number one spot.
Mate great keeper will give Johnstone a run for his place #wba

You cannot please everyone…
We've gone full tin pot. I am genuinely terrified for the season ahead. Who is in charge of recruitment? Shambles. #wba
