Leeds United targeting third Premier League player

Leeds United are looking towards the Premier League for their third summer signing according to Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites look all set to complete a loan deal for Jamal Blackman today, making him the second loan signing from Chelsea.

Phil Hay has confirmed on Twitter that although he does not know the name of the player, Leeds are in fact interested in signing a third player from the top flight.

First reports had suggested that it could have been a loan deal, but Phil Hay reported that it may be a permanent deal.

This will be excellent news to Leeds United fans who have grown increasingly frustrated with the club’s lack of transfer activity so far this summer.

When Marcelo Bielsa arrived at Elland Road, Leeds fans had expected an array of top class signings to come through the door, but that has not yet happened.

Lewis Baker has joined the club on loan from Chelsea, and with Blackman set to join today, Bielsa is making the most of his links to the Premier League.

The player that Leeds United are interested in remains unclear, but speculation is starting to mount as to who it is going to be.

Bielsa has good connections with a number of top flight clubs. His relationship with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has left many Whites supporters hopeful of recruiting a young Citizen on loan, whilst he also boasts a good rapport with Tottenham Hotspur’s Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino.
