West Brom have signed Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley for an undisclosed fee.

This could allow their want-away defender Craig Dawson to leave the Hawthorns this summer. He has been linked with a move away from the Midlands club ever since their relegation from the Premier League in May.

Dawson has been linked with Premier League sides such as Burnley and West Ham United. With the Clarets seemingly out of the race to sign him due to his wage demands, this has left the Hammers as the clear front runners to sign him. They are the 1/2 odds-on favourites on SkyBet to sign him in this transfer market. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are followed by Burnley at 9/4 and then Arsenal at 25/1 in third.

Dawson rise to the Premier League was impressive after he started his career in non-league with Radcliffe Borough. He was snapped up by Rochdale in 2009 and after an impressive campaign with them in League Two, West Brom signed him in August 2010.

He had a brief loan stint at Bolton Wanderers in 2013 but apart from that Dawson has been a first-team regular for West Brom.

West Ham could be his next destination if odds are anything to go by. The Hammers have been busy in this transfer window and have already signed the likes of Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko, Ryan Fredericks and Lukasz Fabianski.

With the Baggies signing Kyle Bartley, it looks like they are preparing for life without Craig Dawson. His is a transfer saga that has dragged on and West Brom fans will want it to end soon.
