Nottingham Forest fans want favour from Peterborough United in return for Cummings

Earlier today, the72 reported that Peterborough United had confirmed the signing of Jason Cummings on a season long loan deal from Sky Bet Championship side Nottingham Forest.

The two clubs already have a relatively strong relationship with each other due to previous transfer dealings, and it was confirmed in recent weeks that Posh manager Steve Evans had met for dinner with Forest boss Aitor Karanka.

At the time, everyone seemed to think that this meeting was to discuss the future of Peterborough United’s star striker Jack Marriott, and now people have started speculating that the loan sale of Jason Cummings has been used in order to give Forest the advantage in the race for Marriott.

The Sky Bet League One golden boot winner is being chased by a number of second tier clubs, with Derby County, Bristol City and Leeds United all said to be interested.

After news broke of Cumming’s departure from Nottingham Forest, many fans of the East Midlands club took to twitter to speculate whether or not this means Marriott is on his way to the City Ground.

Here is a look at what some of them had to say:
