West Bromwich Albion are edging ever closer to completing the signing of Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley, according to a report from Sky Sports.
The Baggies have been linked with Bartley for a number of weeks, but it seems that they are closing in on a deal.
According to Alan Nixon of the Sun, personal terms have been agreed, but the clubs are yet to settle on a fee, with rumours of a £4 million price tag being placed on Kyle Bartley’s head.
West Brom are desperate to strengthen their defence this summer following their relegation to the second tier of English football.
The Baggies have already lost Jonny Evans and Gareth Macauley in this transfer window, and Craig Dawson looks set to complete a move to West Ham United in the coming days, the arrival of Bartley will be greeted with jubilation.
This news will be disappointing for Leeds United fans, who had been hopeful of bringing Bartley back to the club.
The former Arsenal and Rangers central defender enjoyed a successful loan spell at Elland Road during the 2016/17 campaign, and rumours at the start of the summer had indicated that he would be returning.
His performances during his time at Leeds United showed everyone that he is capable of performing at this level, which is just one of the reasons that West Brom have shown such a big interest in him.
However, it isn’t to be, and Sky Sports reports that Bartley will be a West Bromwich Albion player by the end of the week.
