Following his release from Leicester City Robert Huth has been looking for a new club. Here are two clubs that should sign, former Premier League champion, Robert Huth.
Aston Villa are in serious financial trouble and are currently having to sell all of their best players such as James Chester, Jack Grealish and Jonathan Kodjia just to avoid administration. Having already lost John Terry and with James Chester heading out the door their defence has been massively weakened. Robert Huth is not only a to quality Championship centre-back, he’d also be a free transfer.
The 33-year-old saw his contract expire at Leicester City at the end of last month and with no real rumours of a deal on the table elsewhere this would be an incredible free transfer to make for any Championship club. Especially Aston Villa who are crying out for a defender at minimal cost.
Leeds United had some very poor defensive issues in the last Championship campaign. With only three central defenders in Pontus Jansson, Liam Cooper and Conor Shaughnessy currently at the Yorkshire club and no new ones signed, it’s hard to see anything changing at all next season unless they bring in a new defender.
Robert Huth has bags of experience and would be just what Leeds United are looking for. Along side Pontus Jansson, they would have one of the best defensive partnerships in the Championship at the club and it would help them out massively as they look to push for a play-off place.
