Barnsley man considering transfer request

HITC have reported that Barnsley hitman Tom Bradshaw may look to force a move away from Oakwell if the club can not agree on a deal.

Bradshaw, 25 joined Barnsley from Walsall in 2016 when the club were promoted back to the Championship, but with the clubs downfall, Bradshaw believes he is ready for greener pastures.

Millwall are said to be interested in the striker, with a formal bid said to have been submitted. Barnsley are under-pressure to sell their star man, who has one-year left on his contract and may be forced to cash in sooner rather than later.

It was widely believed that Bradshaw would be allowed to leave Oakwell without problems, but with the clubs current failures to make a move happen, Bradshaw is keen to force a move away after Millwall’s concrete approach.

Such departures are to be expected at any club after facing relegation and cashing in while the property is hot may be the best decision for all concerned.

New boss Daniel Stendel, formerly of Hannover 96, enjoyed an emphatic pre-season win on Tuesday, when the Tykes defeated Yorkshire neighbours York City 7-1. York were a goal up before want-away Bradshaw leveled up, eight minutes from half-time.

Many may see the Tykes rampant win at York as meaningless, but Stendel will see this as a step in right direction, after all the clubs uncertainty following relegation, their midweek win shows a positive foundation to start off.

Barnsley have already parted ways with midfielder Stevie Mallan, who joined Neil Lennon’s Hibernian last week. How Barnsley replace Bradshaw, however, will be Stendel’s first big test as Barnsley boss and could very well shape their season.
