Norwich City eyeing up loan deal for exciting Liverpool starlet – not Wilson

Championship outfit Norwich City are eyeing up a move for Liverpool starlet Ben Woodburn, just days after snapping up Jordan Rhodes on loan.

According to Alan Nixon of The Sun, Norwich are definitely in the running to sign the 18-year-old starlet, who has already been capped an astonishing seven times by the Welsh senior team, despite his young age.

Capped at four youth levels for Wales, Woodburn broke onto the scene at Liverpool last season, impressing for the youth sides as well as making six appearances for the senior team, which spanned over two seasons.

However, it is his fellow Welsh compatriot Harry Wilson who has been attracting the bulk of the interest, with Leeds United, Reading and West Brom listed among the many clubs interested in the exciting 21-year-old winger.

Norwich are also believed to be in the race for Wilson, although they stand a better chance of landing Woodburn due to the less intense battle for his signature.

Should they land the 18-year-old on loan, he would become Norwich’s sixth summer signing, with Daniel Farke moving quickly to secure the services of highly-rated Borussia Dortmund full-back Felix Passlack and Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes on loan.

The Canaries have also added Ben Marshall, who spent last season on loan at Millwall, Finnish international and former Celtic striker Teemu Pukki and 21-year-old attacking midfielder Emiliano Buendia to their ranks on a permanent basis.

A move to Norwich would be Woodburn’s first proper taste of senior football and could seriously aid his development.
