Two Free Agents that could improve any Championship side

This summer there has been quite a few well known names be released from their clubs. This has happened a lot in the Premier League leaving some serious talent without a club. Here are two free agents that could improve any Championship side

Robert Huth

The 33-year-old saw his contract expire at Leicester City at the end of last month and with no real rumours of deal on the table elsewhere this would be an incredible free transfer to make for any Championship club. The big tough tackling German has spent a large chunk of his career at Middlesbrough and Stoke respectively. He spent three years up in the North East at Boro where he made a total of 62 appearances. After Boro he moved immediately down to Stoke where he made a massive 188 appearances in just 5 and a half years.

With so much experience he would be a top addition to any squad and be a real leader within the camp. A leader is exactly what all teams need if they are to win promotion or avoid relegation.

Dean Marney

Dean Marney  is a 34-year-old free agent who got released from Burnley last month following eight years service at the club. During this time he’s played 221 times for the Clarets, scoring 10 goals and assisting 17. He’s not afraid of a tackle either. He’ll put himself everywhere and where he’s needed. If he needs to fling himself across the pitch the block a shot, he will do. He’s an incredibly hard worker and will always give 100% to any team he plays in.

Dean Marney also has plenty of promotion experience which is vital within a squad when challenging for it. He’s done it via all three routes. He won the Championship play-offs with Hull City in 2008, in 2014 the Englishman finished Championship runners up with Burnley and in 2016 he won the Championship title, again, with Burnley.
