Nottingham Forest midfielder Jorge Grant has today ( July 06) completed a move to Sky Bet League One new boys Luton Town.

Luton confirmed the news on their twitter page, with Grant signing on a season long loan deal and becoming the Hatters fourth summer signing.

The 23-year-old was a target for a number of third tier clubs, but Luton, who achieved promotion from Sky Bet League Two in the 2018/19 campaign, have beaten everyone to securing his signature.

Grant will be familar to fans of Luton Town after impressing on loan at Sky Bet League Two side Notts County last season. The midfielder scored 19 goals for the side who were beaten by Coventry City in the Sky Bet League Two Play-Off Semi Finals.

Jorge Grant is highly thought of at parent club Nottingham Forest, and Aitor Karanka is said to want him to go out and gain one more year’s worth of experience before re-joining the first team picture at the City Ground.

The young midfielder spent time at the Nike Academy before joining Forest’s academy in 2013. He then played two seasons in the youth set-up before joining the first team squad.

Originally, he failed to make the cut, and he was loaned out to city rivals Notts County in 2017. He scored six goals during his first loan spell at the Magpies, which prompted them to re-sign him the following season.

Grant is yet to play in the third tier of English football, but his performances in Sky Bet League Two suggest that he is more than ready.
