Leeds interested in talented Brentford winger

Leeds United are interested in Brentford winger Florian Jozefzoon according to Sky Sports News. Derby’s bid of £1.5 million has been rejected and that has led to talk of interest from other clubs.

Leeds aren’t having much luck in the transfer window so far under Marcelo Bielsa and the fans are becoming restless. The link with Dutch winger Jozefzoon has come through a failed bid from Derby County and Frank Lampard for the highly rated winger. Leeds are currently talking to Derby over a move for Matej Vydra, ironically Derby need the money for new players, potentially this deal.

Lewis Baker arrived at Leeds at the weekend and that is the only first-team signing to date that he has to his name. Bielsa wants Vydra and Leeds have also made moves for Abel Hernandez, David Stockdale and Kyle Bartley but all, for different reasons aren’t really happening and don’t look likely to happen either.

Jozefzoon is a player that can do damage at this level and one area that Leeds lack in massively is the wide ones. Stuart Dallas, another player signed from Brentford and Gjanni Alioski are the only out-and-out wingers at the club and Dallas played most of his season at full-back last year. Bielsa likes naturally wide players in advanced positions and Jozefzoon is a player that would fit the bill.

Marcelo Bielsa will want players through the door as soon as possible now, he’s been here for over a week and due to his late appointment Leeds are now lagging slightly in the summer transfer market. Pre-season is well under way and the games are about to start, Leeds had just 12 senior players in the original training group set by Bielsa last week. That in itself tells a situation at Leeds that needs to be rectified in the coming weeks, preferably days.
